You can open a text file using ‘Open’ in the file menu, or by dragging a text file over DictionaryEdit’s icon in the Finder. It will appear in a new window, with a couple of buttons and a popup menu at the top. Choose one of the open dictionaries from the popup menu, then click the ‘Speak’ button (or press the Enter key) to hear the Speech Manager speak the selected text using that dictionary.
When you change the dictionary in the popup menu, speech will cease. Click the ‘Speak’ button to start speaking again with the new dictionary.
You can edit these text files, and drag text into them, but any changes you make are not saved when the file is closed.
